About FlyNest

FlyNest is a calm flight buddy for nervous flyers. Here is who makes it, what this site is for, and how our guides are written and checked.

Why FlyNest exists

About one in three adults feels some anxiety about flying, and many avoid flights altogether. Most fear of flying help is either a weekend course, a book, or advice that disappears the moment the plane starts to shake. FlyNest was built to be there during the flight: a live map that works in airplane mode, a pocket captain who answers "was that normal?" in plain words, and breathing and meditation sessions made for each phase of the flight.

What this site is for

This site publishes free, plain-language guides for nervous flyers and a free turbulence forecast for your flight. You don't need the app to use any of it.

How we write our guides

  • Facts first. Statements about aviation safety, aircraft and turbulence come from public sources such as the FAA, NTSB, IATA and aircraft certification rules. When we give a number, we say where it comes from.
  • Calm, never dismissive. Fear of flying is real and common. We explain what is happening and why it is safe, without telling anyone their feelings are silly.
  • Not medical advice. FlyNest is a wellbeing companion. If your anxiety is severe or comes with panic attacks you can't manage, please talk to a doctor or a therapist. Effective treatments exist, including cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure-based programs.
  • Updated. Each page shows when it was last updated. If you spot something wrong, write to contact@getflynest.app.

Who makes FlyNest

FlyNest is made by a small independent app studio. Questions, press or partnerships: contact@getflynest.app.
